Headquartered in Oceanside, California, TMC continues the legacy established by Morrissey Construction Company, founded in Illinois in 1954, by Tom Morrissey’s father. Together, the Morrissey companies have successfully delivered more than one billion dollars of commercial construction projects spanning housing, hospitality, restaurants, retail, education, religious facilities, and institutional construction.



Today, TMC Builders combines a 70-year family legacy with a collaborative, client-focused approach that emphasizes planning, communication, quality craftsmanship, and dependable project delivery.

Our portfolio includes affordable and multifamily housing, senior living communities, religious campuses, restaurants, hotels, convenience stores, retail developments, and complex commercial renovations. Many of these projects remain active throughout construction, requiring thoughtful phasing, clear communication, and a commitment to minimizing disruptions for residents, guests, employees, students, and congregations.

Founder Thomas Morrissey brings decades of construction experience, including executive leadership on hundreds of national commercial real estate projects. His background spans international engineering, complex commercial construction, public works, and long-range community planning through his service on the Oceanside Planning Commission. 

Supporting him is a leadership team that combines decades of experience in project management, architecture, field operations, construction management, and client communication. Together, they bring practical problem solving, technical expertise, and a collaborative mindset to every project. 

Our Leaders

THOMAS MORRISSEY

Thomas Morrissey has decades of construction experience and 14 years of service on the Oceanside Planning Commission, where he currently serves as Chairperson. He is known for his hands-on leadership style and strong problem-solving skills and is a respected leader in senior housing and public works projects. Since beginning his career in 1976, he has built T. Morrissey Corporation into a nationally recognized builder. His earlier experience includes international site engineering and utility work for large-scale ARAMCO housing in Saudi Arabia, project management for U.S. Department of Energy Strategic Petroleum Reserve projects in the states of Louisiana and Texas and executive leadership roles delivering more than 4,400 multifamily units across hundreds of projects nationwide.

JIMMER LOPEZ

Jimmer Lopez brings over 20 years of experience in the construction industry, with a strong focus on senior housing and multifamily projects. Recognized for his innovative, cost-saving solutions, Jimmer has successfully managed more than $120 million in construction projects, consistently delivering projects on time and within budget. Jimmer began his career as a carpenter and gained hands-on experience across multiple trades, including concrete, elevations, structural steel erection, and framing. This diverse field background provides him with a practical, detail-driven approach to project management and constructability. Outside of work, Jimmer enjoys spending quality time with his family, whether at the river or camping out in the great outdoors.
